Elliott hung out with Phil Anselmo and Bill Moseley at the Monster Mania convention in Hunt Valley, MD to talk about their upcoming EP “Songs of Death & Despair” back in September and we’ve been waiting to be able to present you with this video! Their EP is due out in January but you can purchase a pre-order vinyl bundle at the Housecore Records store here: HOUSECORE RECORDS STORE
This is the second time that Elliott has interviewed both Bill and Phil and this one takes the cake as it has some comical content in there for your enjoyment. The video interview can be viewed right here:
Cornell is my high school friend and I’m so psyched on the many cool things that he does. He has a new book on the way, he travels the world to reach out to people, he’s a coach for kids, among many other things. Elliott asked him about the election, unity, race, Facebook arguments, and more:
Scott Ian was interviewed by Elliott at the Chiller Theatre expo in Parsippany, NJ yesterday in which they talked about many different things including getting nervous about meeting people they look up to, superheroes, horror movies, Scott’s new show “Never Meet Your Heroes” and much more. Ian offered a real treat for his fans on Sunday in which he offered his new book signed, a signed 8×10 photo of your choice, a custom guitar pick and a photo with him at his table for a package deal of $30 which was incredible and Elliott had a blast talking to him!
In this video, Scott reveals that Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains will be the guest this Thursday on his new Sirius XM show “Never Meet Your Heroes.” He also discusses the time that he met his own hero Robert Dinero after being too nervous to introduce himself the first time he saw him in the 90’s as well as the landmark moment in his life when he met one of his biggest idols, Stan Lee. He also talks about Norman Reeds and what he thought about the first episode pf the new season of The Walking Dead.
Anthrax just wrapped up their North American dates of their tour with Slayer and Scott mentioned to Elliott that he plans on having the band eventually play each song from their newest album “For All Kings” live.
You can hear many more stories in Ian’s book “I’m The Man: The Story of That Guy from Anthrax” which has received positive reviews.
We have been really busy over here as usual as we head closer to Halloween! But in the meantime I wanted to post Elliott’s latest interviews that he did at different horror conventions and shows. These were all a blast to do as usual, and Elliott is extremely grateful to everyone who granted him an interview. He is also very happy to hear all of the wonderful feedback from friends and fans who have shared and commented on them. So, THANK YOU so much and if you happened to miss any of them, here they are:
Elliott had the absolute pleasure of being able to chat with drummer Brian Tichy of the DEAD DAISIES right behind his drum kit on-stage at their Allentown, PA show opening for KISS. In this interview, Brian talks about their new record, “Make Some Noise” which came out on August 5th and features John Corabi of MOTLEY CRUE on vocals & Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO) on guitar. Brian also recalls his time playing drums for OZZY OSBOURNE on their Ozzfest tour in 2000, his speedbag drumming (check this video of it: https://youtu.be/aaM-Ja6KTls) and much more.
Check out the whole video interview here:
The Dead Daisies are currently on tour with KISS on their “Freedom to Rock” tour and they will also join the band on the KISS Cruise which is from November 4th-9th and runs off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico. Full tour dates can be found at the Dead Daisies website here: http://thedeaddaisies.com/shows/
Elliott had the added bonus of running into Paul Stanley of KISS on the side of the stage after the interview and it was an amazing, unexpected birthday bonus for him!
Elliott had a nice conversation with the members of Sense Field in Philly on the day before their memorial show at the Theatre of the Living Arts. We’ve seen Sense Field play a bunch of times out here in NJ and NYC and let me tell you that they were one of the absolute best bands we’ve seen and heard in that time. We also had the opportunity to hang out with Jon for food and drinks after they played Maxwell’s in Hoboken one night and he was such a nice, fun, and interesting person. His recent passing is heartbreaking for Sense Field fans across the world and we feel for his friends and family.
In this interview, the surviving members of the band (John, Scott, Rodney and Chris) discuss their memories of Jon, his passing, and more. We hope you enjoy the interview and if you’ve never heard this band before, check them out immediately.
We hope everyone is having a nice Spring so far. We have been very busy with custom paintings and we thank you so much for your support! As always, it means a lot to us and we really appreciate it.
We have a brand new interview with one of our favorite artists, Marissa Nadler. Elliott sat with her at a studio in Brooklyn and they discussed all kinds of interesting things including the seasons, her music video for “All the Colours of the Dark” from her new, beautiful album “Strangers”, and much more. Marissa’s music is so hauntingly attractive with her dreamy, angelic voice that delicately soars over her catchy song arrangements that it can put you in a trance. If you are into the music of Elliott Smith, Chelsea Wolfe, Mazzy Star, or Radiohead, then I’d strongly suggest checking out her music. She has a broad catalog of really good stuff so let us know if you’d like us to recommend any albums to you in particular! She is on tour now and you can see those dates at her website here: http://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/collections/marissa-nadler
Elliott had the great pleasure of being able to hang out with Buzz, Dale, and Steve of The Melvins on Friday night before they went on stage at Webster Hall. In this interview, they revealed to Elliott that they will be on a cartoon show! One can only speculate which show it is but a song or two from their upcoming album “Basses Loaded” will be on the show as well. This was Elliott’s second time interviewing Buzz and his first time with the full band. In this discussion they talk about their childlike sense of humor, their thoughts on Lars’ dad in the Metallica movie “Some Kind of Monster”, their current tour lineup, David Grohl or tacos, Courtney Love, Hillary Clinton, or Jesus Christ and the list of shenanigans goes on. Check out this fun interview here:
I was able to snap a couple of photos up front during their crushing set (Buzz moved around like a Doom Rock God) and it was a reminder that I NEED to get a new camera soon. But yea, their set was amazing:
The amazing Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes sat down with Elliott before her show at the Studio at Webster Hall in NYC this past Monday night and pure beauty ensued as they discuss life & death, growing up, her music, getting nervous, and much more. There are some really funny moments in here so we strongly recommend watching the video and checking out Teri’s music if you haven’t, already. Her latest album “A Raw Youth” is the perfect blend of grit and melody which features contributions by Iggy Pop and John Frusciante. We were lucky enough to have her sign our copy!
