MICHAEL SWEET of STRYPER on his Satanic Fans, Internet Negativity, Coffee Machines in Heaven

Elliott  hung out with Michael Sweet from Stryper for a while before their show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ and asked him all kinds of questions including subjects on politicians who misrepresent Christianity, his Satanic and Atheist fans, negativity and bullying on the internet, equality, and much more.

The interview opens up with Sweet mentioning that “There are a lot of Satanists that listen to Stryper, which is pretty cool. That always blows my mind.” He then goes on to say how at the end of the day, we need to respect one another despite our differences.

When asked what he thinks that heaven looks like, Sweet responded that his version would be “Like, the biggest coffee machine. Like, as big as a house. And with the best coffee stocked up in that house.” He also mentioned having lots of amps stacked around and not a bunch of angels sitting around on clouds.

Sweet also gave Walmart the thumbs up towards the end, noting that although they had to deal with the issue of the store chain not carrying their new record “God Damn Evil” due to the title, he still likes to go there because he buys his socks and underwear there. He also stated that it’s still one of his favorite places to stop at when they’re on tour.
